Free online teleprompter

Paste a script, pick a speed, press play. One screen, four controls, and your current line marked as it goes. Runs entirely in your browser — the script never leaves it.

How it works

Three steps, no account, and nothing to install.

  1. 01

    Paste your script

Straight from a doc, an email, a notes app. LensCue counts the words and tells you how long it runs at your pace.

  2. 02

    Pick a speed

Slow, Normal, Fast, Faster — named for how you actually talk, not a 1-to-5 dial. That is also why the runtime it quotes is true.

  3. 03

    Press play

The script scrolls where you typed it — same screen, no mode to switch into. Change speed or size mid-read without stopping.

What the free ones leave out

Every browser teleprompter scrolls text. These are the parts that decide whether you can actually read from it.

Speeds that mean something

Every other free prompter gives you a dial from one to five. Ours are named for real delivery paces, and the runtime it quotes is honest because it is the same number driving the scroll.

You can see where you are

Words grey out as you pass them, so the bright text is always what you have not said yet. Glance away and you can find your place again.

Mirror for a rig

Mirror left-to-right for beam-splitter glass, or flip top-to-bottom for the rigs that need that instead. Almost nothing free does the second one.

Works with your remote

Space plays and pauses, arrows change speed and nudge the script. A Bluetooth presenter clicker sends exactly those keys, so yours already works.

Nothing leaves your browser

No account, no server, no analytics on your words, and no camera or microphone access requested at all. The script and your settings sit in this browser's local storage and go nowhere else.

Mark up your script

Bold, italics, underline and an amber highlight, for the words you mean to hit. The screen also stays awake while you read, so it will not dim mid-take.

Start from a script

Each one opens in the prompter, already loaded and ready to rewrite.

Questions people ask

Is it really free?

Yes — the whole teleprompter, with no signup, no trial and no watermark. There is nothing to buy on this site.

Does my script get uploaded anywhere?

No. The page is static and there is no server to send it to. Your script and settings are saved in your own browser's local storage, which means they survive a refresh and never leave your machine. Clearing site data erases them.

Does it use my camera or record video?

No. It never asks for your camera or your microphone — it is a script on a screen and nothing else. Put it behind or beside your lens and record with whatever you already shoot on.

What speed should I use?

Conversational speech is around 130 words per minute; a measured, formal delivery is nearer 100, and an energetic read can pass 160. Start at 130, then nudge it with the arrow keys while you read — the scroll follows immediately.

Does it work with a teleprompter rig?

Yes. Turn on mirroring for beam-splitter glass. Both horizontal and vertical flips are there, because rigs differ in which one they need.

Can I use a remote control?

Any Bluetooth presenter clicker that sends page-up, page-down, space or the arrow keys will drive it, because those are the same keys the prompter listens for.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has loaded, the prompter itself needs no network. It is not installable as an offline app yet.

Is there a phone app?

Not yet. One is being built — the same prompter, designed for a phone at eye level, where it can scroll the script over the camera and record the take in one go. This tool is free and stays free either way.

Paste a script. Press play.

No signup, no limits, no watermark. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
